Director, Access Strategy & Payer Negotiations This position is Hybrid, based in Toronto.

MedAccess Recruiters is supporting a leading global pharmaceutical organization in the search for a Director, Access Strategy & Payer Negotiations. The Director, Access Strategy and Payer Negotiations, is a senior leadership position accountable for shaping and executing market access and negotiation strategies across several therapeutic areas. Reporting to the Senior Director, Market Access and Pricing, this role provides ongoing guidance to the Market Access team in the development and implementation of pre-launch planning, pricing, HTA submissions, and negotiation strategies across a diverse portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Leads and develops a team of Market Access Associate Directors, with overall accountability for payer-focused strategic planning to maximize value and patient access

Contributes to the creation and refinement of Market Access strategies and key pricing and access deliverables within the Global Commercial framework

Ensures the payer perspective is effectively integrated into cross-functional decision making, providing strategic input into commercialization and development plans

Works closely with HEOR and Marketing to strengthen the value narrative and align integrated evidence strategies to support global reimbursement objectives

Contributes to capability development and thought leadership initiatives that enhance organizational readiness in a dynamic payer landscape

Partners closely with HEOR, Government Affairs and Public Policy, Medical

Requirements

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree

Demonstrated strategic mindset with the ability to deliver well‑founded pricing and market access recommendations

Extensive experience leading high‑stakes pharmaceutical negotiations

Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, with practical expertise in pricing, reimbursement, and HEOR principles to support commercial success

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present materials to stakeholders at all organizational levels

Proven ability to build productive relationships across functions and geographic regions

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
