Job Description
Company Overview
Cedar is creating the most significant innovation in home affordability since the 30-year mortgage. By reimagining the land lease as a consumer-first model, Cedar makes homeownership more accessible and sustainable for a wider range of buyers. We are actually solving home affordability at scale – this is one of the most pressing problems in our country today and we are fixing it. Our structure meaningfully reduces both the upfront cost of purchasing a home and monthly costs. We expand the path to ownership for people who have been locked out of traditional markets and help existing homeowners access their equity at cost well below existing solutions. Cedar is already making a substantial impact for homeowners and we have material backing from top investors. Join our fast-growing and high-performing team as we fundamentally change how people buy homes and create a new institutional asset class.
About The Role
The Sales Lead will be responsible for managing and expanding Cedar’s Sell‑Side Listing channel, helping real estate agents and sellers list properties as leaseholds to attract more qualified buyers. This role combines sales, marketing, and operational coordination to drive adoption among agents, ensure MLS compliance, and improve listing performance.
You will report directly to the Head of Partnerships and work closely with cross‑functional teams to grow awareness, support agents, and track results across Cedar’s Sell‑Side portfolio. You will also work to grow B2B sales channels through brokerages, MLS, and listing aggregation services (i.e. Zillow).
While this will start as a sales role it will ideally grow into more of a general manager role where you will be responsible not just for sales metrics but the whole business unit including product design, marketing, technology, and additional sales resources. PnL responsibility.
What You’ll Do
Agent Engagement and Sales Activation
Build relationships with real estate agents and brokerages to expand the Sell‑Side Listing program
Educate agents and sellers on how Cedar’s model increases affordability and buyer reach
Conduct outreach, presentations, and trainings to convert agent interest into active listings
Listing Operations and Compliance
Liaise with agents to collect listing data, property details, and required documentation
Draft and refine listing language that accurately represents leasehold terms
Ensure listings meet MLS requirements and state‑specific compliance standards
Performance Tracking and Optimization
Maintain a live dashboard tracking Sell‑Side Listing performance and engagement metrics
Analyze listing data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
Deliver weekly reports summarizing activity, outcomes, and recommendations
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work with marketing to create property flyers, social media materials, and listing collateral
Partner with operations to ensure each listing is correctly set up, reviewed, and supported through the transaction
Provide field feedback to improve Cedar’s Sell‑Side process and agent resources
What We Need
We’re looking for a motivated, detail‑oriented professional who understands how homes are listed, marketed, and sold, and who can help agents adapt to a new ownership model. The ideal candidate blends sales acumen with operational discipline and thrives on helping others succeed.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in residential real estate, sales, or related operations
Strong understanding of MLS systems, listing rules, and real estate transaction workflows
Experience working directly with agents and brokerages (listing coordination or sales enablement preferred)
Familiarity with marketing materials, listing descriptions, and compliance standards across multiple states
Excellent communication, organization, and follow‑up skills
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret listing and performance data
Self‑starter who is resourceful, adaptable, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment
Passionate about housing access and creating a more inclusive path to homeownership
Why Choose Cedar?
Take real ownership early — the work is not theoretical
Grow through direct feedback, rigorous debate, and steep responsibility
Be pushed to develop judgment, not just skills
Build a track record that compounds — responsibility scales with performance
Cedar is built for people who want to operate at a very high level on work that matters. We run a true owner’s culture: high standards, direct feedback, fast iteration, and accountability to outcomes. You’ll have real responsibility early, you’ll be expected to think—not just execute—and you’ll be surrounded by teammates who push hard and care deeply about excellence.
This is not a company for people who need perfect clarity, gentle consensus, or predictable routines. The pace is fast, the problems are complex, and the bar is high. But the upside is rare: steep growth, meaningful autonomy, and the chance to do career‑defining work with a team that treats the mission seriously and rewards success well.
If you want comfort, you won’t like it here. If you want to build, learn, and win—Cedar is the place.
Compensation Range: $100K - $270K
