Job Description
We are looking for a Deputy Chief Financial Officer (DCFO) and Senior Director – Financial Services
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) & Vice President (VP), Finance, Infrastructure and Visitor Services, you will play a key role in the sound and rigorous management of the organization's financial resources. You will act as a strategic partner to senior management and actively contribute to organizational performance, risk management, and informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the reliability of financial information, optimize processes, and comply with regulatory frameworks, while supporting the evolution and modernization of financial practices.
Produce accurate and timely financial reports for senior management and the board of directors, in compliance with applicable laws, including the Financial Administration Act (FAA)t and the Museums Act.
Collaborate closely with the Museum teams to align the financial strategy with the organization's objectives.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and propose corrective actions when necessary.
Contribute to internal and external audits by providing all required information.
Lead all financial management, accounting, and treasury operations, as well as payroll, procurement, and materials management.
Mentor, develop, and motivate the teams under their supervision to become strategic partners, capable of supporting organizational decisions, influencing planning, and adding value beyond mere operational execution.

Qualifications
University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Commerce.
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a management role within accounting and finance, ideally with prior experience as a director in a complex, unionized, and multidisciplinary environment.
Demonstrated experience as a strategic partner to senior management.
Significant* experience in developing financial policies and systems.
Significant experience in financial planning and budgeting, financial reporting, performance analysis, and financial control.
Significant* experience overseeing accounting operations and audits, payroll, procurement, and contract management.
Significant* experience in human and financial resource management.
* “Significant” experience is defined as having the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various, complex related activities which would have been acquired over a period of five to ten years.
Knowledge of
The Museums’ mandate, priorities and programs.
Financial administration and management practices and techniques.
Financial and cost accounting principles and practices.
Government planning and budget control practices.
Financial analysis techniques such as cost-benefit analysis, NPV and similar methods.
Management information and control systems.
Financial reporting systems, techniques and practices.
Roles and operating procedures of federal central agencies and services.
Human resource management.
Corporate strategic planning, business case development and return on investment analysis.
The Financial Administration Act and the Museums Act.
Specific Working Conditions
Occasional travel is required.
Compensation
$151,440 to $192,805 MG7 (salary into effect on April 1st, 2025. The position is also subject to a performance bonus).
