Engineering Student (on-site)

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Summer Student is a temporary summer role (May‑August) located in our Calgary Head Office and will assist with the day‑to‑day tasks of the technical teams while supporting the development of data collection and reporting processes. The student will have opportunities to gain practical experience while utilizing the concepts and skills they have learned in their related academic program.

Responsibilities

Assist technical staff with the generation of treatment designs, programs and cost estimates

Assist in the creation and collection of operational/ technical KPI’s and information required for corporate reporting

Support in the compiling and creating post job reporting material for internal and external clients

Administer the collection of pre job information including Geo Scout/ Canadian Discovery databases

Create engineering drawings - lease layouts, P&ID’s

Assist technical staff with various R&D projects and look back studies

Assist the Engineering Team Lead and Manager on various research and development projects

Collaborate with members of the engineering groups to develop and implement data capture solutions for key business metrics

Assist in analyzing data from various sources and transform it into meaningful visualizations and reports using Power BI.

Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track business performance and identify areas for improvement.

Assist in the design and implementation of data models to support business intelligence and reporting needs.

Participate in data validation and quality assurance efforts to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.

Provide training and support to end‑users on data capture and reporting tools and processes

Assist with coiled tubing string management

Actively participate in student‑focused activities and events, contributing to the development of an engaging and supportive student environment

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in post‑secondary engineering or engineering technology program at an accredited University or Technical school

Key Competencies

Ability to learn quickly and work independently

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications

AutoCAD experience is an asset, but not required

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)

Strong commitment to safety
