About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned
Senior Cloud Engineer
to join our Infrastructure Group for a high-impact health project. This role is ideal for a hands‑on technical leader who thrives in fast‑paced environments and has a deep specialty in
Azure
(with AWS as a strong asset). You will be responsible for scaling systems, enhancing security through Identity and Access Management (IAM), and ensuring operational excellence across our cloud‑native platforms.
What You’ll Do
Technical Leadership:
Lead initiatives for upgrading and scaling systems to improve availability, reliability, and performance.
Cloud Operations:
Manage Azure provider infrastructure, system deployments, and product release operations.
Security & IAM:
Implement and manage complex cloud configurations including SAML, OIDC, Privileged Access Management (PAM/RBAC), and Conditional Access.
Automation:
Use Azure Automation and Logic Apps to reduce human intervention and streamline operational tasks.
Documentation:
Create and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance and consistency.
Collaboration:
Partner with internal/external customers to improve resiliency and mentor junior engineers to grow the team’s capabilities.
Support:
Participate in a "follow-the-sun" on‑call rotation to maintain 24/7 system health.
What You’ll Bring
Experience:
6-10+ years of professional experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, and Security.
Azure Expertise:
Deep hands‑on experience with Azure is required (AWS experience is highly preferred).
Identity & Access:
Strong knowledge of IAM/Security principles, including SAML, OIDC, and RBAC.
Infrastructure as Code:
Proficiency in automation strategy and modern engineering practices.
Technical Background:
Experience with Cloud-based Linux/Windows/SQL support is a significant plus.
Industry Context:
Background in developing solutions for retail, eCommerce, manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain sectors.
Tooling:
Expertise in JIRA and Confluence for task management and documentation.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, or Cyber Security (relevant industry certifications like Azure Solutions Architect are also highly valued).
Workplace & Arrangement
Hybrid:
4 days per week in our Vancouver office.
Status:
Open to Incorporation (Inc) or T4.
