Overview
Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) has an opening for a Hearing Care Counsellor based in Toronto. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Hearing Care Counsellor will be responsible for providing individual counselling, support, and case management for eligible Hearing Care Counselling (HCC) clients (55 years and up and hard of hearing or deaf). This is a permanent, full-time position, working Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
Provide individual counselling, support, and case management for eligible HCC clients (55 years and up and hard of hearing or deaf).
Collaborate with other counsellors, agencies, and services to promote the independence and empowerment of clients with acquired hearing loss, enhancing daily functioning, safety, and social access.
Liaise and consult with other professionals to manage a varied workload with competing priorities and deadlines.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in the Social Services field with 3–5 years of counselling experience with the elderly.
Proficiency in French or another second language is an asset.
Knowledge of and experience in the hearing loss field, including evaluating hearing loss using audi scope and audiometer testing devices, and providing instruction to clients in the use, care, and maintenance of hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
Excellent administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a pressurized environment, manage a varied workload with competing priorities and deadlines.
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle; travel within the service area may be required.

Salary: Hiring Min Rate 71,088.61 CAD, Hiring Max Rate 71,088.61 CAD.
