Position Summary
A joint venture partnership is seeking an experienced Project Director (Construction) to join the team on a contract basis during the pursuit phase of a complex multi‑phase renovation & redevelopment project of a major aviation complex in Ontario, Canada. The successful candidate will transition to a full‑time position upon project award in March 2026 to lead the overall project execution phase.
This leadership role is critical to the success of the bid and execution strategy. The Project Director will oversee planning, stakeholder engagement, and execution readiness for one of Canada’s largest and most complex airport infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead overall project strategy, execution planning, and pursuit activities for the $1.5B expansion
Provide leadership and direction to pursuit teams, ensuring alignment with JV objectives
Collaborate with design, engineering, and construction teams to develop innovative, cost‑effective solutions
Engage with airport authorities, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with live airport operations
Oversee risk management, scheduling, and resource planning during pursuit and execution phases
Transition seamlessly into project delivery leadership upon award, managing construction execution
Ensure safety, quality, and operational continuity in an active airport environment

Site Timelines: 3 to 5 years
Communication Stakeholders: 75% internal: 25% external
Profile Requirements

Mandatory: At least 5 years experience in airport construction projects (active, live airport environments)
Minimum 15+ years of progressive leadership in large‑scale infrastructure projects
Strong track record in managing projects exceeding $500M in value
Demonstrated ability to lead joint ventures and multi‑disciplinary teams
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Professional Engineering designation or PMP certification considered an asset
