Position Description Scott Springfield by Modine is tier-1 supplier that offers scalable air handling solutions for commercial and industrial customers across North America. SSM’s leadership team have intentionally created a workplace culture that puts customers first, and values teamwork, innovation and accountability. SSM has garnered a hard-earned reputation for customer service, quality and reliability..SSM operates three manufacturing facilities in Calgary. To support its growth and expansion, SSM is looking to add an Applications Engineer to the team.

Reporting to the Applications Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for the cost definition and initial design application of custom HVAC air handlers.

This role will be based at our 2234 Portland St SE location in Calgary Alberta.

Key Responsibilities Creating costs of material/labour and drawings including:

Reading and analyzing technical specifications in order to determine the price structure of a project.

Generating costs for the product using proprietary software.

Selecting components to meet the intent of the specifications.

Participating in customer and vendor visits.

Creating drawing packages using AutoCAD and IronCAD.

Required Education & Qualifications

Engineering degree or diploma with eligibility or membership in APEGA or ASET.

Strong proficiency in both verbal and written communication.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with multiple, changing priorities.

Keen attention to detail and organizational skills.

Proficiency in problem solving and critical decision making.
