The Opportunity
Shape something different: join our Energy subsector, a vital part of WSP’s ERI (Energy, Resources & Industry) sector. Deliver solutions that power Canada’s energy transition across the full project lifecycle—designing, engineering, and innovating for a low‑carbon future. As a Stress Engineer on our Energy team, you’ll lead projects in a senior technical role, collaborating with various disciplines to meet mechanical stress engineering goals for clients including IPPs, municipal utilities, investor‑owned utilities, contractors, and developers.
Your Impact
Perform stress analysis of piping & equipment systems.
Generate comprehensive technical reports with recommendations.
Demonstrate exceptional client engagement, problem‑solving, communication, and technical knowledge.
Lead and guide local and remote team members.
Design piping supports and support development of specifications and standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and build client/client relationships.
Apply industry guidelines, codes, and standards (e.g., ASME, API, CSA).
Ensure engineering designs meet applicable codes and standards.
Prepare and submit technical reports summarizing analysis results.
The Skills That Set You Apart
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation.
Minimum 5+ years of stress engineering experience in an EPC environment.
Experience leading teams and projects as a stress engineer.
Experience with energy‑related projects in oil and gas, power generation, or mining.
Knowledge of rotating equipment a plus.
Familiarity with Ceasar II, Autopipe, FE Pipe and Nozzle Pro.
Experience managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $89,800 – $118,900
MB & ON: $81,900 – $112,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $81,100 – $107,800
Final salary may vary based on education, qualifications, experience, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
