About the Role
It’s an exciting time to join the Score Group team based at our facility in
Paradise, Newfoundland, Canada . We are seeking a proactive Project Engineer (EIT) to support our activities reporting to the Project Manager.
The Project Engineer (EIT) will take on responsibility for the completion of Engineering and Project Coordination related work for Score (Canada) Ltd. This role will be to support the River Class Destroyer (RCD) Shipbuilding program for the Wholeship valves package being supplied to Irving Shipbuilding. The position will be responsible for a range of multi-skilled tasks including but not limited to technical engineering tasks, project management, quality, and financial related subjects.

Main Responsibilities
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions.
Create and maintain detailed project schedules.
Compile and complete engineering, HSE and quality related project documentation including but not limited to General Arrangement Drawings, Engineering Management Plan, Verification Cross Reference Index, Specification Compliance Matrix, Valve Lists, Test Procedures, ITP’s and Quality Plans as well as and project procedures.
Develop Design Packages in accordance with engineering procedures, inclusive of detailed drawings and design calculations.
Establish technical requirements for Purchase Orders (POs), review and requisition supplier POs and quotes, ensuring supplier PO matches the client PO and the Score quotes.
Complete design reviews and technical files in accordance with client requirements.
Accurately take dimensions for mechanical components; produce clear and concise hand sketches from the workshop floor; and be able to reproduce these dimensions into detailed scale manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD or a similar drawing office package.
Coordinate project scopes, acting as supplier liaison and support client questions, inquiries, and provide frequent updates to all parties involved.
Responsible for general housekeeping within the projects department and surrounding areas.
Proactively participate and encourage others to participate in company HSEQ initiatives.
Work within the company’s policies, procedures, operating standards and work instructions.
Maintain a safe working environment to avoid risks to self and others.
Reporting and investigating incidents and near misses.
Be aware of customer driven safety and environmental initiatives.
Be available to fill a representative role within the department as required, (i.e., Engineering, Safety, Quality, Training, Environmental, IT, etc).
Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications & Experience
Engineering Degree or diploma from college or university and/or have a demonstrated track record of serving in an engineering or projects environment.
Strong Knowledge of Microsoft suite of programs required.
Experience within a drawing office environment within the mechanical drafting discipline.
Experience in AutoCAD and other platforms.
Will be required to become a member of PEG‑NL.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of business processes and functions (i.e., client service satisfaction, operations, procurement, purchase ordering systems, etc.).
Be familiar with workshop/manufacturing processes and ideally have relevant experience in dimensional checking of mechanical components.
Communicate effectively and positively with others and be flexible to change.
Positive approach to continual improvement and development.
Excellent planning and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment with problem‑solving aptitude.
Ability to utilize Microsoft Suite including Excel to develop relevant data and maintain applicable file management.

Working Conditions
Work in indoor office environment 90% of the time.
Workshop environment 10% of the time.
Some travel may be required.
