Resident Care Attendant

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Faubourg Giffard residence, located steps from downtown Quebec City, is seeking an empathetic and caring Resident Care Attendant.

Part-time day or evening shifts, permanent position with one weekend out of two.

The candidate must hold a government-recognized diploma, a 16-hour CPR certification, and the PDSB (Principles of Safe Patient Handling) certification from the ASSTSAS (Association of Social Workers of Quebec).

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

All other related tasks

Health Care

Adhere to standards and regulations in accordance with private seniors' home certification and employer policies

Assist and/or accompany residents in getting around

Contribute to the adjustment of a residents' action plan based on their observations

In collaboration with the different teams, carry out health and hygienic care to the residents while maintaining their dignity and integrity .

Proactively assist and support the residents

Respond to all emergency situations

While interacting with them, report any noticeable changes in a residents mental or physical health to the on-call nurse.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1 year of relevant experience will be considered an important asset

Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset

PAB diploma issued by a government body

Up to date CPR / AED training certificates

PDSB training
