Family Lawyer

Outset Law is a boutique family law firm based in Vancouver. We act in parenting disputes, support matters, and high net worth cases involving businesses, trusts, and significant assets. We are looking for a family lawyer who wants to build a serious practice in a firm designed to support long-term success. This role offers autonomy over your files, meaningful collaboration on complex matters, and a structure that allows lawyers to do their best work without the constant pressure that defines many traditional firms. The position is suited to a lawyer who is already practicing family law in British Columbia and is comfortable managing files, appearing in court, and working directly with clients. What We Offer

Practicing member of the Law Society of British Columbia Experience practicing family law in British Columbia Experience appearing in both the BC Supreme Court and Provincial Court Strong judgment, preparation, and client management skills A Message From the Founder

I started Outset Law because I believe the traditional law firm model is broken. Too many excellent family lawyers are burnt out. The expectation is constant availability, relentless billing pressure, and a practice that eventually takes over your entire life. Over time that pressure affects judgment, energy, and the quality of work lawyers are able to deliver. Family law is already demanding. The structure of the firm should not make it harder. Outset Law was built intentionally to give lawyers the space to practice well. Space to prepare properly. Space to think strategically. Space to step away and come back with perspective when matters are difficult or high conflict. This does not mean lowering standards. Our work is serious, and our cases are often complex. But lawyers should not have to sacrifice their health or their lives outside of work in order to do excellent legal work. I am building a firm where strong lawyers can grow their practices, take on increasingly sophisticated matters, and still maintain balance over the long term.
