Staff Engineer (Test Engineering)

Recording Media Organization (RMO) Launch group is to provide reliable component media electrical testing (VTS) for Launch new media development. The team also provides technical solutions to testing improvement and new metrology development to enhance test data accuracy. Close collaboration with Fremont test group and Sputter process group is expected. Primary metrics are accurate and timely VTS data for media performance development.

Responsibilities

Improve testing turnaround cycle time

Develop/work with Fremont Test group to define test head criteria/test setups

Provide continuous testing improvements/metrology for testing accuracy enhancements/FA

Provide electrical FA support for drive failure returns

Improve VTS to eDVL correlation

Be technical lead to engineering specialists

Team player and self-motivated

Efficient communication and technical leadership skills

Strong ability in problem identification and innovation

Proficient in English speaking and writing

Fundamental understanding on magnetic recording physics

HAMR head and media basic understanding

Familiar with magnetic recording electrical parameters like ADC, TPI, BPI, ATI, etc.

Knowledge of VTS testing, data analytics and drive RSS knowledge are added advantages
