GFSC is seeking an experienced
HR Business Partner
to join our growing organization and act as a trusted partner to leaders and employees alike. This role is ideal for a well-rounded HR professional who enjoys rolling up their sleeves while also thinking strategically about how HR programs, people practices, and culture support business growth.
You’ll bring deep generalist experience across the full employee lifecycle, strong employee relations capability, and a proven track record of building and scaling HR programs in fast-paced, evolving environments. You’ll work closely with leaders to support performance, engagement, and organizational effectiveness while ensuring a consistent, compliant, and people-first employee experience.
You will have one direct report in this role, with oversight over our Facilities and Events functions, and provide support and back-up in these areas as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition
Support or lead recruitment efforts as needed in a scaling environment (in-house or vendor-supported)
Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective licensed talent by connecting with candidates currently pursuing the LLQP license through proactive outreach and relationship building
Ensure hiring practices are fair, inclusive, and aligned with employment legislation
Onboarding
Facilitate the onboarding experience with a focus on fostering connection and loyalty from day one and supporting measurable speed to competency
Monitor new hire progress and support leaders in effectively integrating new team members during periods of growth
Gather feedback and implement improvements to onboarding processes
Employee Relations & Performance Management
Act as a first point of contact for employee relations matters, providing sound, balanced guidance
Support leaders through performance management, feedback conversations, and investigations
Ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant application of policies and practices
HR Operations & Programs
Support or manage core HR programs across the employee lifecycle (recruitment support, onboarding, performance management, learning & development, engagement, offboarding)
Develop, implement, and scale HR policies, processes, and tools that support a growing workforce
Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies
Growth & Change Support
Support teams through periods of growth, change, and increased complexity
Help build leadership capability through coaching, guidance, and practical HR solutions
Contribute to a strong, inclusive, and values-driven culture
Develop, review, and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and organizational clarity
Ensure consistent application of policies across the organization
Support audits, documentation, and risk mitigation related to people practices
What We’re Looking For
3-5 years of progressive HR experience in a Generalist, HR Advisor, or HR Business Partner role
Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters with confidence and sound judgment
Experience supporting a fast-paced, scaling organization (startup or high-growth environment preferred)
Proven ability to build, implement, and evolve HR programs as organizations grow
Strong business acumen with the ability to connect people practices to business outcomes
Practical, solutions-oriented mindset — comfortable navigating ambiguity
Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
Solid knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices
Balance strategic work with day-to-day HR support as needed
Experience with Dayforce considered an asset
