Position Summary
As a System Architect in our North American Service Delivery group, you will be responsible for the high‑level design and implementation of complex computer systems and networks. This role involves analyzing system requirements, ensuring systems are secure, efficient, and scalable, and providing technical leadership throughout the system development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Develop and document comprehensive system architectures, including hardware, software, and network components, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards
Collaborate with stakeholders – business analysts, project managers, and end‑users – to gather and analyze system requirements, translating them into technical specifications
Ensure seamless integration of new systems with existing infrastructure, identifying and resolving any compatibility issues
Implement robust security measures to protect data and systems from threats, including encryption, firewalls, and access controls
Continuously monitor system performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks, and optimizing system efficiency
Maintain detailed documentation of system architecture, configurations, and changes, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for future reference
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
Certifications: Open Group Certified Architect, Certified System Architect (CSA), Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, or similar assets
Knowledge of system architecture design principles, methodologies, frameworks, and best practices; network protocols, configurations, and security; cybersecurity principles, practices, and tools; project management fundamentals
7–10 years of experience in system architecture or related roles, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex systems
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills, and ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
Ability to work under pressure, attention to detail, adaptability, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues

Operating Systems: Windows Server (Core) 2019, Linux (CentOS, Redhat)
Networking: OSI Layers 1–7 (Fortigate, switches, routers, DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS)
Security: Encryption (AES, RSA), access control (LDAP, AD)
Storage: NAS (FreeNAS), SAN (3PAR, EqualLogic, Thinksystem, TrueNAS)
Scripting and Automation: Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Helm
Tools: UML, Visio, Git
Cloud: AWS, Azure
Containerization/Orchestration: OCI Containers (Podman/Docker), Kubernetes
Mandatory Requirements
Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
Physical demands: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
Travel: Ability to travel internationally (passport required) approx. 6–10 weeks/year
Security clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Reliability (Level) I personal security clearance within reasonable timeframe
