The Role
This position is responsible for leading the loan servicing team responsible for the post funding administration of property taxes, insurance and PPSA renewal, issuance of maturity letters and gathering of financial statements from CMG clients are required under the Commitment Letter and Loan Documents. The mandate requires the incumbent work with Business Support Services and MCAP Corporate IT to issue annual Borrower Statements, leverage the use of CMG’s technology and continually improve the loan administration process.
The incumbent is expected to be knowledgeable of LMS Mortgage System and CMG’s obligations under its various investor contracts performed by the loan servicing
Post-Funding Activities on Commercial Mortgages
Ensure terms of commitment letter and investor contracts are met
For loans on property tax escrow: calculate installment payments, collect funds from Borrower and pay the required amounts ensuring that no penalties are incurred
For loan on non-property escrow: follow up and confirm that payments are being made by the Borrower on a timely basis
Accountable for timely and accurate completion of post-funding activities by Mortgage Specialists
Responsible for maintaining data integrity of LMS mortgage system
Effectively liaise with all parties (e.g. borrower, broker, investor, underwriter/analyst, solicitor, 3rd party service provider) from initial request through to completion of the transaction
Approve loan documents for execution
Approve mortgage statements
Review health check reports and ensure appropriate action taken
Expert on all Commercial Lending Programs
Handle specialized servicing for CMBS, CMB and Subserviced programs
Maintain expert knowledge of investor contracts and standard lending documents
Issue Resolution/SME
First level escalation for non-routine issues
Conduct process analysis, identify opportunities for improvement, provide recommendations and liaise with Business Support Services to implement any changes
Represent the commercial team as subject matter expert on projects
Identify continuous improvements for operational business processes
Monitor team activities, to identify issues/opportunities and alternative courses of action and that service levels are met
Recommend changes to systems, policies and procedures, and programs toward improving results
Lead and Manage Staff
Champion the company’s Vision, Mission and Values as set out in the Strategic Plan both internally and externally within the industry.
Recruit and develop the right people that believe in and reflect in their behavior MCAP’s Values and culture.
Establish, monitor and communicate performance standards for direct reports ,reinforcing individual results, work quality, continuous improvement, teamwork and achievement of MCAP’s objectives.
Educate, coach and counsel staff to ensure they are empowered to effectively handle their roles in a confident and professional manner.
Ensure a continuous improvement culture is established and encouraged.
Other Activities
Complete specialized management reporting
Liaise with internal and external contacts on Commercial Servicing audits
Recommend changes to procedures geared towards increasing efficiency
Draft process updates
Participate in Audits and System testing upgrades
Other activities as required to meet objectives of the Commercial Servicing unit
What You Bring To The Team
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial mortgage administration
Indepth understanding of Commercial Mortgage Life Cycle
Proven ability to master new technology
Proficient with Outlook, MS Word,MS Excel and PLM
Working knowledge of and MS PowerPoint
Ability to lead change initiatives and to foster a positive employee relations environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.
Proven diplomacy, tact, decision making and negotiation skills.
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels within the organization.
Ability to pull resources together to meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse work group.
Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Excellent planning and project management skills
Proven ability to coach, mentor and train staff

Post-secondary diploma or degree
