Role Summary The Senior Executive – Content Acquisition will support the sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of content acquisition deals for Sony YAY!. The role focuses on identifying high-potential kids’ content (animation, live-action, anime, movies, specials), analyzing commercial viability, and ensuring a strong content pipeline aligned with channel strategy. Key Responsibilities 1. Content Sourcing & Evaluation Scout and evaluate domestic and international kids’ content libraries. Track global animation trends, kids’ IP launches, and market movements. Screen and assess content suitability for Indian audiences. Prepare content evaluation reports (creative + commercial analysis). 2. Deal Support & Negotiations Support negotiations on licensing terms (rights, tenure, territory, exclusivity). Coordinate with Legal for contract execution and compliance. Maintain acquisition trackers and rights management database. Conduct ROI analysis for new acquisitions. Benchmark acquisition cost vs projected ratings and revenue potential. Work on budgeting and forecast planning. Track performance of acquired content vs projections. Ensure timely delivery of content assets. Coordinate with Dubbing and Operations for localization timelines. Track premiere schedules and content rollouts. 5. Stakeholder Coordination Liaise with international distributors, studios, and content aggregators. Coordinate internally with Programming for scheduling strategy. Support Marketing with content highlights and promotional hooks. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Cost efficiency per hour of acquired content ROI on acquired properties Timely contract execution & delivery compliance Library freshness and content mix balance Contribution of acquired content to channel ratings Ideal Candidate Profile Experience 6+ years in content acquisition, syndication, programming, or media buying. Exposure to kids’ content / animation industry preferred. Experience in TV network, OTT platform, or distribution house is a plus. Strong analytical and financial modeling skills. Understanding of licensing terms (SVOD, AVOD, linear rights). Ability to evaluate content creatively and commercially. Detail-oriented with strong coordination skills. Passion for animation, anime, and kids’ entertainment. Education MBA in Media / Marketing / Finance preferred.
