Job Description
Reporting to the Executive Director and supporting all CSEP staff, the CSEP Manager, Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and delivering CSEP’s marketing, content, and brand initiatives to strengthen engagement, awareness, and trust with members, stakeholders, partners, and the public.
This is a hands‑on role that balances planning and execution. This position leads the day‑to‑day execution of CSEP’s communications and marketing activities, ensuring consistency of messaging, tone, and visual identity across all platforms. The Manager supports national programs, events, and strategic priorities through timely, professional, and aligned content, while contributing to the ongoing development of a trusted and credible national brand.
Marketing and Content Development
Ensuring consistent application of visual and written standards across all channels
Develop, manage, and deliver content across digital platforms, including website, newsletters, email communications, and social media
Produce high‑quality written materials such as announcements, updates, newsletters, website content, and organizational communications
Ensure clarity, professionalism, transparency, and alignment with CSEP’s values and strategic priorities
Manage CSEP’s social media presence, including content planning, publishing, and engagement
Work with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain a content calendar aligned with organizational priorities and national events
Monitor performance, engagement, and emerging trends to inform continuous improvement
Maintain website content and coordinate updates with internal teams
Support sponsorship, partnership and revenue generation communications to ensure brand alignment and appropriate recognition
Create templates, infographics and tools to support strategic initiatives
Develop strategic plans to grow CSEP’S brand recognition throughout Canada
Adapt our brand to the changing needs of our members and the market
Work in a team environment supporting various tasks and projects that may arise
Note: This position has no direct reports.
What you bring to the role…
Education in marketing and/or communications;
3‑5 years progressive work experience in a marketing and communications position;
Demonstrated success in creating and executing strategic plans;
Strong organization skills with the ability to plan, prioritize and efficiently manage time and multiple tasks;
Demonstrated ability to meet fixed deadlines; flexibility to adapt to emerging deadlines, without compromising attention to detail;
Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Suite, Zoom and Google platforms;
Strong proficiency using graphic design tools such as Canva and MailChimp, CSEP’s primary email marketing platform. SurveyMonkey experience is considered an asset;
Understanding of website content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, digital communication platforms, and popular social media apps;
Superior communications skills, both orally and in writing; and
Functional bilingualism in English / French is required.

This is a hybrid position with occasional in‑person work based at our Ottawa office. While very infrequent, occasional evening work may also be required when assisting with CSEP events.
