Job Overview
Professional Practice Consultant – Parkwood Institute Mental Health Care, London, ON. Temporary full‑time. Salary Range: $53.51 – $62.96 per hour. The position is expected to extend until March 31, 2028 and is subject to availability of work.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director Professional Practice, the Professional Practice Consultant will provide organization‑wide leadership for the advancement of professional practice in collaboration with the Professional Practice team, clinical leaders, and other stakeholders. The role includes collaborative leadership in relation to professional standards, problem‑solving regarding practice issues, system‑wide projects and change initiatives, consultation and coaching for individuals, teams and Professional Councils, and support of the organization’s academic mandate through student placements and relationships with academic partners. Specific accountabilities include support of student affairs, understanding of Health Discipline practice guidelines and standards, and knowledge of how Health Discipline scopes of practice can support an interprofessional approach to care. Success will depend on developing effective relationships with leaders and other teams, both internal and external, and translating relevant data and trends into meaningful information within a shared leadership environment.
Essential Qualifications
Relevant Master's degree
Current registration with a Professional College
Member of Professional Associations and specialty or interest group affiliations
Demonstrated experience in a leadership role in project work with an emphasis upon the evaluation of outcomes
Demonstrated experience in documentation and/or electronic patient record systems
Effective consultation and coaching skills
Strong knowledge foundation and demonstrated experience in research, research utilization and the promotion of evidence‑based practices
Superior interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in team development in a health care setting
Strong knowledge, skills and experience in areas of professional standards, legislation and professional practice
Sound problem‑solving, negotiation, project management, research and teaching skills
Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
Preferred Qualifications
Registration with College of Health Discipline
Proficiency in French would be an asset

Immunization Requirements
Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B, COVID‑19, and influenza.
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin test.
