Rogers Business is looking for a Solution Architect responsible for customer‑facing technical pre‑sales to focus on SMB accounts. You will work closely with our sales teams to understand customer requirements, design innovative solutions, and ensure successful implementation. As a Solution Architect, you will join a dynamic team passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences through comprehensive solutions design, technical mastery, and thought leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Interface with key decision‑makers, ranging from IT staff to the C‑suite, to understand business goals and technical requirements.
Conduct product demonstrations, technology assessments, and discovery sessions.
Build and maintain trust‑based relationships with clients as a trusted advisor.
Solution Design & Development
Design and architect differentiated, customized technical solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements.
Leverage extensive knowledge in voice and data network design to create supportable solutions.
Collaborate with internal teams to assess costs, deliverability, and supportability of proposed solutions.
Provide technical diagrams, documentation, and guidance for successful implementation.
Collaboration & Internal Advocacy
Work with Business Sales Consultants, Solution Specialists, Network Planning, Engineering, Service Delivery, and Service Assurance teams to deliver seamless customer experiences.
Act as a key feedback source, delivering structured insights to internal teams on service lifecycle management.
Proposal Development & Technical Writing
Participate in proposal development and presentations in partnership with Business Sales Consultants.
Contribute as a primary content contributor for complex RFP documents.
Continuous Learning & Knowledge Sharing
Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and technology evolution.
Engage in formal technical training sessions to and from peers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in solution architecture, technical pre‑sales, or a related role within a telecommunications service provider or large IT services organization.
Advanced knowledge of MEF‑compliant Ethernet Services, MPLS IPVPNs, WAN/LAN environments, and associated networking protocols (Spanning Tree, OSPF, BGP, etc.).
Expertise in routing, switching, optical transport (DWDM), enterprise voice (SIP‑based), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Proven ability in solution and product positioning, technical writing, communication, and presentation.
Active industry certifications (e.g., CCN[A|P], CMN[A|O], JNCI[A|S], MEF‑CECP, ITIL, CISSP).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Visio, SharePoint, Teams).
Ability to persuade, negotiate, and sell technical solutions.
Experience with RFP documentation and proposal development.
Strong strategic thinking, creativity, and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Valid driver’s licence and vehicle required.
