Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering key initiatives within Value Creation Plan (VCP) Team. The successful candidate will be responsible to plan, manage and deliver distinct initiatives through all specific phases, in alignment with business and enterprise strategies that reside within the Payments, AML, sanction screening and payments compliance space. The successful candidate will provide leadership, direction and coaching to team(s) while partnering with Technology and Operations teams to drive the modernization of our payments processes and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Manage projects with moderate regulatory oversight
Ensure end-to-end delivery of programs and initiatives Tier 2 - 5 (make-it-happen)
Produce a delivery operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability for locally owned projects
Facilitate project execution through Rapid, TD Agile, and Waterfall delivery approaches as appropriate
Be accountable for key delivery decisions and aligning technology and business objectives into a shared delivery vision
Support the Project Delivery Lead, Executive Sponsor and Business Owner in structuring and securing approval for business case and funding
Contribute to a team comprised of delivery professionals such as delivery managers, scrum masters and business/QA analysts
Be accountable for challenging program estimates and supporting the team in removing roadblocks during estimation, in alignment with the Estimation Framework
Ensure initiatives are delivered based on agreed scope, timeline and budget
Establish program governance structures for effective delivery orchestration, meeting TD's governance control objectives
Execute projects across all domains to meet stated success criteria and product value realization, with consideration to business process, change impacts and transition to BAU
Establish and execute processes and practices that support the appropriate project-level delivery framework (PDLC: requirements package, change management plan, testing plan, control processes for scope/requirements change)
Establish and manage resource plans, issues, risks and financial plans
Create and maintain comprehensive delivery management artifacts as required by governance standards
Coordinate with enterprise control partners to manage external service providers as required
Manage initiatives through Planning, Execution, Control and Closure
Qualifications
5+ years relevant experience
Outstanding record of project delivery success, preferably in Capital Markets and Payments related initiatives
Experience and strong subject matter expertise in Payments Operations/Payments Technology/Payments Processing /AML/Sanctions with change project experience
Strong understanding of Operations functions (payments processing, confirmations, settlements, cash reconciliation, etc)
Comprehensive knowledge of project management practices, delivery methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence; Agile)
At least 2 years' experience with project delivery/scrum coaching in large programs
Experience with financial management for tracking, forecasting and managing project budgets
Strong leadership, change champion, and ability to develop a motivated team
Effective negotiation, problem-solving and communication skills; ability to influence and resolve
Pro-active in mitigating delivery risk and enhancing processes
Inter-personal skills including conflict resolution and stakeholder engagement
Experience leading diverse, high-performing teams; ability to build relationships with internal and external partners
Ability to foster a cohesive team and positive work environment
Demonstrated ability to apply expert judgment with available information
Ability to progress on multiple priorities concurrently in evolving circumstances
Aptitude for interpreting large information sets and planning next steps
Willingness to learn on-the-fly and evolve stakeholder engagement
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage dependencies and meetings
Ability to make business decisions and escalate or resolve as appropriate
Ability to work on multiple concurrent initiatives
Specific Education Requirements
University degree or equivalent
PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM or CSP designation preferred
Certified Agile Coach or Scrum Master is an asset
