We’re on the hunt for an Intermediate Level Electrical Engineer on our RSO team at our Kanata office. As part of the team at the Kanata office, you would be designing the next generation of vision sensors for spacecraft and exploration rovers.
With 40 years of operational experience and proven performance on the iconic Canadarm programs including Space Shuttle and International Space Station robotics and operations support, our Robotics & Space Operations team has 100% mission success in making space dreams come true.
Responsibilities
Contribute to complex projects relating to the design of products or tools
Applications are numerous, including spacecraft relative navigation sensors, processing platforms, vision systems and LIDAR solutions
Perform circuit card level design and testing for both analog and digital circuitry
Prepare and maintain design documentation including:
Conduct and document engineering performance and budget analysis (Derating Analysis, FMECA, Worst case analysis)
Conduct and document investigations of hardware anomalies and failures
Give technical guidance to less experienced staff
Collaborate with cross functional teams
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
3+ years plus related experience
Knowledge of design experience for the military or space industries
Circuit card design specifications
Board-level test procedures and reports
System test procedures and reports
Familiarity with radiation analysis and EEE-INST-002; Design for EMI/EMC compliance
Analog and digital design background including experience with:
Schematic capture, board layout, and signal integrity analysis
Capable of working under pressure to meet time critical deadlines and ensure reliable designs
Highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills, initiative, superior problem solving skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and willingness to learn and adapt
Strong documentation skills
Familiarity with formal configuration control method
Comments/Special Considerations
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.

The compensation range for this position is $72,800.00 - $100,100.00 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
