What makes this role important at Ipsos?

As a Director, you will play a leading role in the provision of strategic insight to our clients in the delivery of research and advisory services. In this role, you will work with clients to understand their business issues and needs in order to develop and design appropriate solutions while building and maintaining strong client relationships. You are experienced in quantitative research design, with experience leading projects from start to finish. Our ideal candidate is an innovative thinker possessing both drive and intelligence, with a passion for matching science with insight.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading and growing a portfolio of public and private sector clients through strategic advisory and research engagements.

Designing and delivering high‑impact studies that generate actionable insights and contribute to Ipsos’ thought leadership.

Driving new business development (25%) while ensuring excellence in project design and delivery (75%).

Collaborating closely with clients to understand their challenges, co‑develop solutions, and deliver insights that drive decision‑making.

Partnering with best‑in‑class research advisors across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.

Mentoring and developing a high‑performing team of junior researchers and consultants.

Representing Ipsos in client engagements, conferences, and public forums.

Delivering insights that “wow” clients and influence decision‑making.

Building a reputation as a trusted advisor in public affairs and corporate reputation.

Fostering strong, collaborative relationships with clients that lead to long‑term partnerships.

Contributing to Ipsos’ leadership in thought‑provoking, evidence‑based content.

Who We’re Looking For

A seasoned research professional (8+ years) with strong empirical skills and attention to detail.

A self‑starter who thrives on solving complex problems and delivering strategic advice.

Experienced in the practical application of scientific theory in designing social science research assignments and overseeing projects, including complex survey programs and analytical products.

Advanced knowledge of analytics tools and techniques (e.g., predictive modeling, regression, segmentation, conjoint). Experienced in SPSS, SAS, R, Excel.

Knowledge of social science research methods and ability to advise clients on issues of research design.

Comfortable designing studies that push boundaries and generate additive learning.

Strong communication skills and someone who values collaboration and enjoys working closely with clients to deliver meaningful impact.

Demonstrated success in working with clients delivering strategic advice and delivering quality work on‑time, and on‑budget.

Track record of consistently increasing private sector and/or government business revenue through the capture of new work and organic/incremental growth within existing client projects.

A credentialed evaluator (CE) designation with Canadian Evaluation Society is an asset.

About The Team

The Public Affairs Service Line is the world leader in Social and Opinion Research. We work with clients on political and public opinion polling, citizen and stakeholder management, social policy improvement, sustainable development strategy and identifying societal trends and perceptions across several sectors. We assess how government and public affairs policies as well as societal trends and views impact our client’s brand/products/markets.
