The Director, Digital Experience Design leads and oversees Digital Experience Design in Global Wealth Management Digital, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed & delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

Influence the design decisions for digital experiences that impact clients

Understand clients’ motivations and needs, encouraging teams to leverage rigorous design research & usability principles

Consider clients’ interactions and journeys and act as an advocate for their constant improvement by identifying and encouraging the utilization of inclusive design principles and implementation

Anticipate problems, challenges, and opportunities to formulate comprehensive responses to difficult questions, driving decision making regarding change and growth

Leverage existing communication channels with key stakeholders across Global Wealth Management (GWM) to inform, build relationships, inspire confidence, and influence decisions

Champion the execution of the Bank’s leadership strategy and view development of self and others as a business priority

Support and foster the growth of a thriving Design Community of Practice based on the principles of Inclusivity and collaboration, which is dedicated to attracting, developing key talent, and emerging leaders within GWM and partnering with Retail Digital Banking Design teams

Promote partnerships and collaboration with key players across GWM to ensure that groups are aligned and engaged to deliver results

Own Accessibility across digital applications and ensure standards are met and maintained based on all regulations and client needs

Conceptualize and guide the teams to produce usable, consistent, and intuitive user experiences across multiple platforms and devices, making clients' experience useful, engaging, and effective while supporting business goals

Consider market contexts, industry and competitive trends, client feedback, metrics, usability findings, and technology constraints to drive the team's work in the right direction

Establish and own communication channels with key stakeholders across GWM to inform and influence decisions, build relationships, and inspire confidence

Guide the teams to understand the long-term roadmaps and key wins necessary to manage priorities through performance reviews, one-on-one meetings, and performance and development discussions with Designers at all levels of expertise

As a People Manager, oversee the resourcing and capacity of your team, and be responsible for hiring and advocating for individual team members in their careers, as well as the development of a cohesive team with a breadth of skills and experience

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Humanities, Systems engineering or related fields (or equivalent work experience)

10+ years of professional experience designing responsive web and/or native mobile software applications, with a minimum of 5 years coaching high-performance design teams in fast-paced organizations

Studies and/or experience in complementary fields to Product Design, like visual design, animation, research, data analysis, applied arts, writing and communications are considered an asset

Experience or background in FinTech or other financial related product fields is an asset

The ability to communicate concepts, ideas and strategies using rapid visual design techniques

The ability to practice empathy and actively listen and consider other people’s points of view

The ability to work within the constraints of a Design System with flexibility

Demonstrable history of applying design thinking tenets and user centered design principles to design problems

The ability to learn quickly and an appetite to uncover what is behind both simple and complex financial solutions

The ability to craft and communicate compelling stories that add clarity and inspire passion in the team’s mission

Strong facilitation skills with a robust tool kit of techniques to communicate and collect ideas

The ability to collaborate and leverage diversity across disciplines/locations/levels to fuel creativity and innovation in product design

The ability to exercise flexibility and openness, with the courage to defend unpopular points of view when they add value to the client or the business

Expertise on driving individual performance through feedback and modelling
