Job Description

Our client is a full-service talent management firm partnering with founder-led companies and leading North American organizations across the full people lifecycle. They are expanding quickly through organic growth and acquisitions and, as a result, adding a VP Operations to their Burnaby, BC head office.

The successful candidate will oversee operational discipline and team leadership, scaling the business without compromising our client’s service standards or organizational culture. The main objective is to build and run the operating system that drives growth through strong people, clear systems, and disciplined execution.

This is a full-time, permanent, and fully in-office role offering:

Close mentorship from proven operators and investors

Exposure to real decision-making across growth, acquisitions, and leadership

The opportunity to take on expanded responsibility over time across portfolio companies

Responsibilities

Lead the business day-to-day

Hire and retain A-players

Build and develop leaders so the business can rely on a strong team

Operations That Drive Growth

Translate growth goals into staffing and execution plans

Improve utilization, speed, and throughput

Remove bottlenecks that limit performance and growth

Protect margins through disciplined execution

Cross-Selling & Recurring Revenue

Build systems that expand accounts across the client lifecycle

Shift the business from one-off work to longer-term engagements

Make growth more predictable and repeatable

Build out a cross-selling system for our client’s group of companies

Sales Execution (With Leadership)

Partner closely with the VP, Revenue & Client Services

Enforce CRM discipline and clean pipelines

Run weekly pipeline and deal accountability

Ensure clean handoffs from sales to delivery

Systems & Execution

Run the business using EOS / Scaling Up-style cadence or similar

Build SOPs that people can follow (checklists > manuals)

Implement scorecards for every role

Partner closely with the VP of Technology to implement the right technology and AI systems that eliminate manual administrative work and increase speed, accuracy, and scalability

Lead clean, fast acquisition integrations

Qualifications

Previous experience in a hands-on, executive leadership role with a proven track record of having scaled execution in growing, people-heavy, revenue-driven businesses

Ideal areas of expertise would be:

Professional services or people-heavy businesses

Recruiting, consulting, coaching, HR, or talent platforms

B2B SaaS or tech-enabled services businesses (especially with delivery or recurring-revenue models)

Private equity–backed companies where they led operations, integration, or execution

Founder-led companies that scaled and needed structure, discipline, and strong people leadership

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field is preferred

Track record of implementing SOPs, process improvements, and operational best practices

Ability to standardize and scale operations across multiple businesses

Proven ability to coach and develop high-performing teams

Experience partnering with sales, finance, IT, and HR leadership

Strong communicator with high operational credibility

Compensation

CAD $130,000 – $180,000 annual base salary

Significant, uncapped performance-based upside tied directly to EBITDA growth and business results ($250k + OTE over time for high performers)
