Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District (ACRD) Chief Financial Officer (Full-time Exempt Position)

The Alberni‑Clayoquot Regional District (ACRD) serves a diverse and vibrant region that includes Tofino, Ucluelet, the City of Port Alberni, ten First Nation communities, and six electoral areas. We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our senior leadership team. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the CFO provides strategic financial leadership and fulfills the statutory responsibilities of Financial Officer under the Local Government Act, ensuring accountability, transparency, and long‑term financial sustainability across a diverse range of regional services.

This role leads the full suite of financial and corporate services, including multi‑year financial planning, statutory reporting, daily financial operations, investments and cash‑flow management, risk management, procurement, and contract administration. The CFO also oversees interim and year‑end reporting and manages the annual external audit process.

The CFO provides strategic financial advice to the CAO, Senior Management Team, and the Board of Directors—contributing to corporate planning, service development, asset management, and implementation of the ACRD’s strategic priorities. As a member of the senior leadership team, the CFO helps shape organizational direction, supports evidence‑based decision‑making, and ensures that Board policies, financial controls, and governance standards are consistently applied.

This is an exempt position offering an attractive salary between $137,000 and $158,000, based on skills and qualifications, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
