About Sanctum Care Group
Sanctum Care Group is a Saskatchewan‑based nonprofit dedicated to providing compassionate, holistic care to individuals facing complex health and social challenges. Through programs such as Sanctum 1.5, Sanctum Hospice, and community outreach initiatives, we support people living with or at risk of HIV, experiencing homelessness, or navigating barriers to health and stability. Our work is rooted in dignity, harm reduction, and Trauma informed care.
Position Overview
The Communications Manager is a key member of our team, responsible for shaping how our community, donors, and partners understand and engage with our work. This role leads storytelling, oversees internal and external communications, and ensures that every message reflects our values and advances our mission. The ideal candidate is a strategic communicator, a thoughtful relationship‑builder, and a passionate advocate for the organization’s impact. This position offers a flexible hybrid work model, allowing a blend of remote and in‑office work to support both collaboration and work‑life balance.
Compensation Package
$79,000–$85,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Health Benefits and Pension plan.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications & Brand Stewardship
Develop and maintain a consistent, mission aligned voice across all communication channels.
Ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with organizational values in all public messaging.
Review and maintain tone, quality, and brand standards.
Content Creation & Social Media Management
Lead the creation and execution of a content strategy that elevates the organization’s mission and impact.
Manage social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), producing compelling posts, graphics, and stories that engage supporters and attract new audiences.
Create posters, brochures and branding and media packages with graphic design.
Track analytics and adjust strategies to strengthen reach and engagement.
Storytelling & Narrative Development
Guide the organization’s storytelling efforts, highlighting program outcomes, community impact, and donor contributions.
Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and clients to identify and develop meaningful stories.
Produce written, visual, graphic and multimedia content that strengthens the organization’s narrative.
Email Campaigns, Newsletters & Donor Communications
Create and manage email campaigns, newsletters, and donor engagement communications.
Oversee donor stewardship messaging, including thank‑you letters, impact updates.
Support fundraising initiatives with clear, persuasive, and mission‑aligned messaging.
Assist with drafting internal updates, announcements, and messaging for staff and volunteers.
Stakeholder & Community Engagement
Build and maintain relationships with donors, partners, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
Represent the organization at events, presentations, and community gatherings.
Support leadership with talking points, speeches, and public statements.
Collaborate with event committee and event planner for annual fundraising events and galas.
Website Management
Responsible for website updates and maintenance, ensuring content is current, accessible, and reflective of organizational priorities.
Maintain site functionality and brand consistency.
Qualifications
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills tailored to nonprofit audiences.
Experience managing social media platforms and digital communication tools.
Ability to translate program outcomes and impact data into compelling narratives.
Comfortable representing the organization in public and community settings.
Experience with donor communications, fundraising campaigns, or CRM systems is an asset.
Familiarity with website content management systems (Word press).
Experience in using graphic design, content creation and editing software.
Experience with AI is an asset.
