Business Advisory Services: salaries typically range from $84,698 to $112,931 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
Location
Hybrid work environment: 2 days per week in office (subject to change).
Can work from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa or from a Community Hub in Montreal.
Relocation assistance available for eligible candidates.

Team Overview
The International Business Advisory (“IBA”) team is a customer‑facing, critical contributor to EDC’s medium‑segment growth strategy. The team’s diverse professionals specialize in international market intelligence, market entry, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation. Our mission is to make trade easier for our customers and accelerate their growth into new markets.
What You Will Be Doing
Work directly with Canada’s fastest‑growing companies to interpret international growth ambitions, identify opportunities and gaps, scope exercises, conduct research, write and analyze, synthesize findings, and ensure customer expectations are met.
Report to the Director of the IBA team.
Apply expertise in one or both of the following domains:
Regulations & Compliance: international tax, trade agreements, customs compliance, product compliance.
Markets & Strategy: international expansion strategy, comparative market analysis, country or industry intelligence, strategic customer channel research, competitive landscape.
Navigate customers through market‑access issues, provide tailored information, actionable next steps, and relevant referrals.

What We Are Looking For
Undergraduate degree in International Business Administration, Law, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
Minimum five years of experience in one or more of the following verticals:
Regulations & Compliance (international tax, law, customs, product compliance).
Markets & Strategy (international business development, sales and marketing, market research, strategy development, e‑commerce).
International business experience, directly or in advisory capacity.
Knowledge of the export ecosystem, including government and private‑sector service providers.
Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).
What Will Make You Stand Out
Consulting or advisory experience with mid‑size businesses (Revenues $10 million – $1 billion).
Experience in key regions: Europe, Indo‑Pacific, Latin America, Middle East, United States.
Proficiency in additional international languages relevant to those regions.
Advanced credentials such as JD/LLB, MBA, CPA, or CITP.
Experience within professional services (management consulting, market research, tax, legal, customs, supply chain, regulatory or product testing/compliance).
Sectoral expertise: agri‑food, advanced manufacturing, technology, or clean technology.
Eligibility
