We’re on the hunt for a Senior Level
Electrical Engineer
on our
Robotics and Space Operations
team at our
Kanata
office. As part of the team at the Kanata office, you would be designing the next generation of
vision sensors
for spacecraft and exploration rovers.
With 40 years of operational experience and proven performance on the iconic Canadarm programs including Space Shuttle and International Space Station robotics and operations support, our Robotics & Space Operations team has 100% mission success in making space dreams come true.
Responsibilities
Apply engineering principles to design electrical systems to solve complex technical challenges
Perform circuit card level design and testing for both analog and digital circuitry
Contribute to architecture of new camera and sensor platforms
Prepare and maintain design documentation
Conduct and document engineering analysis (Derating, Worst Case, Reliability, Radiation, EMI/EMC Analysis, FMECA, Power Budget)
Conduct and document investigations of hardware anomalies and failures
Perform Acceptance Test Procedures on Engineering and Flight model HW
Mentor junior staff
Assist with project estimation
Collaborate with cross functional teams
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
8+ years related experience; minimum 2 years with high reliability design experience
Digital and analog design background; Microprocessors, memories, image sensors, I²C, op‑amps, filters, point‑of‑load power supplies
Experience with requirements definition as verification and validation methodologies
Schematic capture (preferentially Orcad), board layout (preferentially Allegro), signal and power integrity analysis
Strong lab debug skills
Excellent communication skills (English); both verbal and written
Highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills, initiative, superior problem solving skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and willingness to learn and adapt
Capable of working under pressure to meet time‑critical deadlines and ensure reliable designs
Familiarity with the following is desirable:
EEE-INST-002
EMI/EMC compliance issues
LTSpice simulation
Component qualification
Familiarity with the following would be considered an asset:
LiDAR or other laser‑related design and test
Radiation analysis
FPGA design – implementation into a CCA with internal RTL experience

The compensation range for this position is $108,000.00 - $145,500.00 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
