The Director of Collections is responsible for driving improvements in Collections by leading the production of reports including executive dashboards, insights and data-driven analyses that will contribute to enhancing collection effectiveness and mitigating credit losses.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Lead the development, implementation, monitoring, communication and managing of Collections Reporting, and Analytics by:

Understanding credit risks associated with collections across the various portfolios, products and collection stages to drive continuous improvements by adhering to global collections policy and operational guidelines

Monitoring and reporting delinquency trends to provide actionable insights and oversight on early warning triggers

Monitor and report on industry delinquency trends leveraging various sources including credit bureau, Argus, etc. to obtain a wholistic view of market dynamics, our relative position, and potential opportunities that may impact strategy and collections operations

Forecasting delinquency and write-off outlook to support Collection Operations capacity plan while also providing valuable insights to the Provisioning, Risk Product, and Business Teams

Leading the delivery of portfolio performance updates to a range of committees. Importantly, decluttering month to month data noise to bring clear insights and 'story telling' on trends that can be understood and absorbed by a broad audience including senior leaders

Supporting a variety of projects as SME or core team member.

Ensuring alignment of policies, strategies and tools with Governance requirements and best practices, as well as changing conditions.

Provide strong leadership to drive both individual and team performance, by:

Providing strategic direction and prioritization to deliver on analytical tasks/projects that provide actionable insights to improve collection effectiveness.

Fostering a performance driven, customer-focused and results-oriented culture.

Understanding systems and processes and advocating for innovation and automation as levers for efficiency.

Supporting the Bankโ€™s efforts to create highly diverse teams.

Sharing and integrating knowledge, experience and responsibility within the team.

Contribute to the broader Bank strategy of delivering value-added services, expert advice, and innovative solutions aligned with the Bankโ€™s business objectives and risk appetite, by:

Building strategic relationships and developing strategic alliances.

Assessing current trends in the market and effectively managing budgets, complement, etc. to meet future needs

Supporting Audit and other partners in a variety of processes and projects.

Skills

Undergraduate degree or higher required. Degree in statistics, business, economics or finance preferred.

Extensive experience in Banking / Retail and Small Business Risk Management, specifically in Collections.

Expert knowledge and proven experience in reporting, analysis, dashboard development, and generating insights to an executive audience

Expert knowledge in power point and the ability to communicate complex issues in a simple and understandable manner

Strong technical ability including SAS/SQL, Python, etc. and ability to provide guidance to automate report development and process an extremely high bar for delivering accurate and qualitative results

Knowledge of debt recovery legislation, policies, practices.

Knowledge of Bankโ€™s systems.

Thorough knowledge of project management disciplines.

Disciplined project management skills and the ability to work under very tight timelines
