Senior JVM Backend Engineer (Java / Clojure)

What we're working on: Enterprise companies partner with us to launch innovative digital products serving hundreds of millions of users, transactions, and data points. We work across industries such as Logistics, FinTech, Transportation, Insurance, Media, and other highly regulated or data-intensive environments.

Requirements

7+ years of professional software engineering experience in Java (technical assessment required)

Strong experience with Clojure and/or Grails (Groovy)

Deep understanding of the JVM ecosystem

Experience building RESTful and/or event-driven systems

Experience working with Kafka or similar messaging/event streaming platforms

Familiarity with functional programming principles (immutability, pure functions, concurrency models)

Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases

Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)

English fluency, verbal and written

Salary range: CA$80,000 - CA$116,000 annually, with final compensation determined by your qualifications, expertise, experience, and the role’s scope.

Location This is a

fully remote position ; however, candidates must be

based in regions that align with the Pacific,

Central, or Eastern U.S. time zones

to ensure effective collaboration with client and team schedules.

This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday .
