The Solution Architect is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of applications that provide services and solutions to business partners. This role will translate functional requirements into technical solution design and architecture for these applications and provide guidance for technical decisions within software development initiatives. Who You’ll Work With

This role reports to the Senior Manager, Product Engineering for Platforms and Shared Services and will work directly with Product teams to provide oversight and evolution of key technologies and applications. Responsibilities

Create new code and work with existing code to provide well‑designed technical solutions that are strategically aligned, extensible and easy to maintain Implement new technologies, provide thought leadership to evolve and improve technical design and development patterns, practices and standards Develop application and technical architecture for highly complex application software including technology selection, frameworks, tools and integration with third‑party products Contribute to the design, architecture and development of technical solutions including custom applications required to meet business objectives Introduce architectural, design and implementation standards to be used across all development teams Work with business partners to understand functional requirements, develop technical strategies and communicate them to project members to enable effective and quality design Be accountable for the delivery of architecturally sound solutions that are developed according to agreed‑upon standards Be responsible for key system design and integration decisions and communicate decisions to individuals implementing the system Maintain currency in relevant technology trends and industry developments to recommend new technology adoption Identify performance and reliability related technical issues, develop action plans and implement corrective action Ensure solutions conform to established architecture and quality standards and are developed using appropriate technologies and practices Provide technical oversight and perspective to the development and project teams Communicate with business partners regarding technical requirements and key issues and set expectations for project delivery Qualifications

Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent education Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong leadership abilities Minimum of 2 years of experience providing technical team leadership to a medium or small development team, preferably in Investment Portfolio Management space Minimum of 7 years of programming experience developing software applications using programming languages such as .Net, Python, Angular and data/visualization platforms (PowerBI, SSIS, SQL Server, Oracle, Matlab) Strong working experience in domain‑specific software development technologies, processes and application architecture patterns Experience with Agile software development practices, continuous build and integration, and Service‑Oriented Architecture Solid understanding of Investment Portfolio Management process and lifecycle and vendor tooling landscape Experience with financial vendor platforms such as Bloomberg or Fincad is an asset Demonstrated success in delivering solutions through the entire software development lifecycle What We’re Offering
