POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are currently seeking a creative and passionate Chef who wants to offer an exceptional culinary experience to our residents.

Permanent, full-time position. Approximately 30 hours per week, including days, evenings, and weekends.

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assemble plates of food

Clean kitchen equipment

Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure good teamwork

Ensure the kitchen and equipment are kept clean according to established hygiene and cleanliness standards

Perform inventory duties, receive and store food for the kitchen

Perform other related duties

Plan and cook meals in accordance with the appropriate methods and standards

Prepare the lunches and suppers for the Health Care department

When appropriate, collaborate with the chef in the creation of the menus by proposing ideas

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in institutional cuisine or equivelent

Training certification (MAPAQ)

A minimum of 2 to 3 years experience

Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
