Elementary General Teacher

POSITION: Teacher - General - temporary ASSIGNMENT: Elementary (K-7) FTE: 0.2 LOCATION: Wells/Barkerville Elementary School EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing September 1, 2025 until June 30, 2026 Basic Qualifications: A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following: Training Specialization: Elementary Education with specialization at the primary/intermediate level Related Teaching Experience: Recent successful experience teaching at the primary/intermediate level A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff. Additional Qualifications: Not required for this posting Other: Understanding of small rural school practices Exemplary experience as a classroom teacher Willingness to work as a member of the school-base team Willingness to work as part of a team in the development and implementation of the School Growth Plan Willingness to support whole school environmental initiatives Commitment to school-wide Positive Behaviour Support program as a form of addressing behaviour in the classroom and the school as a whole Knowledge and skill in current practices in assessment for learning Schedule as arranged by school principal The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
