Job Duties
Growth Strategy & Experimentation:
Collaborate with the Growth and Insights teams to identify opportunities, develop hypotheses, and run experiments that drive growth. Identify new questions about our business, product, and customers that lead to impactful growth insights. Establish requirements and best practices for event tracking, testing frameworks, and other data collection to enable new product insights in a scalable and predictable way.
Advanced Modeling & Forecasting:
Build predictive models to forecast the impact of specific growth initiatives. Design and deploy end-to-end forecasting pipelines (from feature engineering to automated monitoring). Optimize model accuracy using advanced techniques. Innovate new techniques in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining to unlock opportunities in our products.
Cross-Functional Influence & Culture:
Build a scientific culture in the Product team by enabling discussions with data, disseminating best practices, and leading by example. Translate model outputs into actionable business narratives for department-level stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience & Impact:
5+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or a highly quantitative field. Demonstrated track record of deploying models that drove significant business impact and delivered measurable results.
Core Technical Expertise:
Expertise in Python and SQL. Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining techniques. Proven ability to apply rigorous statistical analysis to solve complex product and business problems. Expertise in probabilistic forecasting and time-series analysis, including the ability to model and handle data irregularities (seasonality, outliers, cold-starts). Proven experience in the design and evaluation of A/B tests and other product/business experiments.
System & Cloud Proficiency:
Advanced experience with a major cloud provider (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and platforms like Databricks. Proficiency with common ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. System Awareness: Familiarity with the process of productionizing ML models and applying principles of maintainable, scalable ML code.
Education & Communication:
Education: Masterโs or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field preferred. Communication: Exceptional ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts, analytical findings, and strategic recommendations to both technical and product/business stakeholders.
This role is a backfill for an existing position.

The expected salary range for this role is $136,000 to $160,000 to $184,000 CAD. There are separate salary bands for other regions based on local currency. Our salary bands reflect the range of skills and experience needed and allow room for growth at Clio. The final offer amount depends on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
