Position Overview The Information Architect is a key member of the technology leadership team, responsible for designing and leading the data interoperability architecture across transactional systems. This role drives a vision and framework that enables seamless, secure, and scalable data exchange within and across GSI systems, ensuring alignment with GSI architecture and business strategy. Accountable for establishing data interoperability solutions that enable end‑to‑end transactional flows, the Information Architect works at a strategic level to ensure that data is modeled, shared, and governed consistently across GSI platforms. This role collaborates across domains (application, solution, integration, and security architecture) to establish patterns, policies, and technologies that unlock the value of data in motion and at rest.

Your Role Core Responsibilities - Architecture

Collaborates with business and technology stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure alignment with business goals and compliance standards.

Leads the design and development of GSI-wide data interoperability frameworks, including canonical data models, message standards, APIs, and event‑based patterns.

Defines and governs data domains and associated domain APIs, ensuring standardized, reusable, and discoverable data retrieval and exchange mechanisms across GSI.

Establishes best practices for data domain modeling and service ownership to drive consistency, decoupling, and composability of data services.

Leads the creation of shared supporting capabilities such as reference data services, master data entities, metadata management, and semantic layers, enabling consistency and governance across transactional systems.

Develops and maintains data modeling standards, integration contracts, and metadata strategies for structured and semi‑structured data.

Ensures data solutions align with GSI policies on privacy, regulatory compliance, security, and governance.

Works closely with solution and platform architects to define integration and API strategies that support real‑time and batch‑based data exchange.

Provides architecture oversight and quality assurance across integration initiatives and platform transformations.

Develops interoperability roadmaps and capability maturity models aligned to GSI data strategy.

Supports modernization of legacy systems to align with emerging interoperability protocols and patterns (e.g., FHIR, JSON‑LD, GraphQL, Async APIs).

Core Responsibilities – Business And Technology Alignment

Acts as the key bridge between data strategy, business operations, and technology enablement.

Collaborates with data governance and data engineering teams to define stewardship and quality frameworks.

Advises on best practices for data flow orchestration, API‑first design, and schema evolution.

Works cross‑functionally to reduce data silos, improve data discoverability, and promote reusability of data assets.

Presents technical recommendations clearly and confidently to business and executive stakeholders.

Your Profile

Preferably a University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a similar discipline.

10+ years of experience in data or information architecture, preferably in highly transactional GSI environments (e.g., insurance, banking, healthcare, logistics).

Strong understanding of integration patterns and protocols (REST, SOAP, Kafka, MQ, Webhooks).

Expertise in canonical data modeling, data contracts, schema design, and domain‑driven API design.

Demonstrated experience in establishing and managing data domains and federated data ownership models.

Experience with reference data and master data architecture, including tooling, processes, and governance.

Familiarity with regulatory and industry standards impacting data interoperability (e.g., ISO 20022, GDPR, HIPAA, FHIR).

Experience with messaging, event streaming, and data pipeline tools (e.g., Confluent, Mulesoft, Azure Data Factory).

Knowledge of metadata management, data catalogs, and data lineage tools.

Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, resilient, and flexible data solutions.

Strong communication and documentation skills for engaging both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Competencies for the Role

Work effectively as part of a team, sharing knowledge and supporting collective goals.

Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.

Analyze complex situations, identify solutions, and implement practical outcomes.

Adapt to changing priorities and handle diverse tasks effectively.
