Job Description

The Deputy Director of Operations Division supports the Director of Operations in leading and optimizing all manufacturing and equipment functions within a high‑volume semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring production targets are achieved, maximizing equipment uptime, improving yield, and maintaining strict compliance with quality and safety standards.

The position requires strong cross‑functional leadership, deep technical understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, and a data‑driven approach to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities 1. Manufacturing Operations Leadership

Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets, cycle time, yield, and cost objectives are met.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.

Collaborate with Process Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to optimize production flow.

Ensure adherence to cleanroom protocols, EHS standards, and regulatory requirements.

2. Equipment Engineering & Maintenance Oversight

Lead the Equipment Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.

Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.

Manage equipment lifecycle planning, upgrades, and new tool installations.

Drive root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions for equipment‑related failures.

Optimize tool performance and service agreements.

3. Strategic & Operational Planning

Support development of operational strategy aligned with company growth objectives.

Participate in capacity planning, capital expenditure forecasting, and budget management.

Identify and implement automation and digital transformation initiatives.

Drive cost reduction programs while maintaining product quality and delivery performance.

4. Leadership & Talent Development

Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to department managers and senior engineers.

Foster a culture of accountability, safety, innovation, and operational excellence.

Develop succession plans and technical capability within manufacturing and equipment teams.

Promote cross‑functional collaboration and communication.

5. Quality & Compliance

Ensure compliance with ISO standards and semiconductor industry quality systems.

Support audits, customer visits, and certification activities.

Maintain strong focus on defect reduction and yield enhancement initiatives.

Qualifications Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Experience

10–15+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing operations.

Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing manufacturing and equipment functions.

Strong experience in wafer sort and final test is preferred.

Proven track record of improving yield, cycle time, and cost performance.

Technical Competencies

Deep knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes of CP and FT.

Strong understanding of equipment maintenance systems, and reliability engineering.

Experience with data analytics.

Familiarity with cleanroom operations and safety standards.

Leadership Competencies

Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities.

Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.

Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Results‑driven with high accountability and integrity.

Language Ability

Fluent in both English and Chinese (to liaise with Chinese‑speaking counterparts).
