About the Opportunity Our growing client in Ottawa West is looking for a progressive Director of Finance to join their fast‑paced, dynamic organization on a full‑time, permanent basis. This opportunity offers professional growth and development while being a key player in a collaborative, supportive team.

Responsibilities

Oversee the Accounting team to ensure accuracy and timely submissions, providing support as needed

Provide mentorship and development for the Accounting team through thoughtful evaluation

Produce financial statements

Coordinate and prepare budgets and financial forecasts

Prepare month‑end and year‑end close for the appropriate departments

Conduct financial analysis, risk analysis, reporting, and ad‑hoc analysis as needed

Institute and maintain internal controls as well as streamline policies & procedures, ensuring compliance

Liaise with external auditors

Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and present financial reports

Communicate with Senior Management on all finance‑related strategies, including developing long‑term growth models

Qualifications

Active CPA designation in good standing

7+ years of recent experience within a similar role for a medium‑to‑large organization (construction industry a strong asset)

3+ years of leadership of an accounting team

Strong oral, written, and communication skills in English

Strong problem‑solving skills, critical thinking

Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal skills, self‑starter, collaborative – able to work with all levels of staff
