Position Overview Navacord is looking to add an experienced lawyer to its growing team as Director, Legal to be based out their Toronto office. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, with a focus on supporting the operating brokerages of the Navacord group, the successful candidate will advise on a broad range of transactional corporate/commercial matters as well as on key strategic initiatives. You will also advise on employment matters, litigation management, and regulatory and compliance requirements. This role will suit a collaborative and adaptable lawyer with the demonstrated ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.

Qualifications

At least 8 years of broad corporate/commercial experience including negotiating complex commercial contracts, advising on acquisitions and dispositions.

Solid understanding of employment law and HR matters.

Experience advising clients in the insurance or financial services sectors is an asset.
