About The Role As a Process Automation Analyst, you will support the design, development, and troubleshooting of industrial automation systems that are critical to safe and efficient steel production. Working alongside experienced analysts and specialists, you will apply your technical skills to real‑world industrial challenges—contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the plant. In this hands‑on role, you will use your programming abilities to develop and modify Oracle database applications, analyze process improvement requests, and design practical technical solutions. You will gain exposure to the technologies and systems that underpin modern steelmaking, while collaborating with professionals from electrical, metallurgical, operations, and IT disciplines.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar program.

Familiarity with relational databases would be an asset.

Experience with C, C#, C++, or other object-oriented programming.

Familiarity with active directory, DNS, DHCP, FTP, TCP/IP, batch files and the ability to troubleshoot basic networking problems would be an asset.

A valid driver’s license and vehicle are required.

Your Day-to-day

You will analyze business needs and translate them into reliable application changes (e.g., new or enhanced screens, workflows, and data capture).

You will investigate and resolve issues across the stack, using logs, database queries, and structured troubleshooting to identify root cause, implement fixes, and prevent recurrence.

You will build, validate, and support reporting and data outputs used by operations, including maintaining report functionality through rigorous testing and quality checks.

You will learn the technology involved in the steelmaking processes.

You will work directly in active industrial environments, collaborating with personnel from varied disciplines to commission, troubleshoot, and support automation systems in the field.

You will respond to high-priority issues during off‑hours as required.

Job Skills And Knowledge

Communicate in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbal, that is appropriate for the audience.

Analytical and problem-solving capabilities are required.

Ability to troubleshoot and work through complex technical issues.

Ability to work as part of a larger team as well as independently.

Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Work Environment

Includes work in both office and mill environments with a high impact team.
