Job Summary This position helps promote our outstanding educational programs for health professionals across British Columbia and beyond. The Digital Marketing Associate is responsible for producing high-quality written and visual marketing assets for email, web and social media platforms.

The individual in this role helps to coordinate marketing and communication activities between CPD teams and writes and manages content across online platforms. Some administrative support, including data analysis and reporting, is required.

This is a writing-intensive role. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong editorial judgment and advanced writing skills, including proficiency in Canadian Press Style. The role also provides operational support to the registration team and contributes to data management, reporting and database maintenance to ensure accuracy and integrity across systems.

Organizational Status This position reports to the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, and works closely with other members of the marketing team on task assignments. Interacts with several team members across portfolios to support the promotion of events and programs.

Work Performed

Prepares marketing materials in accordance with our brand principles

Drafts, edits and proofreads digital marketing copy

Ensures all content adheres to Canadian Press Style and UBC CPD brand standards.

Develops and tailors social media plan collaboratively with project lead(s) to achieve goals

Drafts digital marketing copy and designs cross-platform assets such as graphics and video in accordance with UBC CPD brand guidelines

Utilizes social media management tools to monitor campaign performance

Supports configuration and collection of meaningful web data via Google Analytics

Prepares campaign reports analyzing data collected from social, web and emails for project lead(s) and/or partners

Contributes to editorial scheduling discussions and ensures that projects are optimized and tracked in project management tool

Social media scheduling, and management of calendars (including FoM calendar)

Supports digital engagement strategies by keeping up-to-date with audience trends and behaviours (community listening)

Designs and prepares internal and external marketing presentations

Liaises with project lead(s) to define email audiences, review and approval processes in preparation for email marketing

Responsible for maintaining learner databases performing updates, troubleshooting and template building for queries

Supports the implementation of new processes to improve email marketing strategy (excel work re: data clean up to improve data quality and integrity, email platform alternative research)

Fulfills requests to update website content from external partners

Builds and troubleshoots HTML emails Coordinates and participates in meetings (e.g. scheduling, preparing agenda and minute taking).

Supports the development and implementation of market research and usability testing

Corresponds with internal stakeholders, project partners and learners

Liaises with registration team members to manage learner records and respond to external inquiries

Performs other duties as assigned

Consequence of Error/Judgement This position requires significant tact and good judgment related to CPD reputation and brand. The Digital Marketing Associate requires a high degree of organization. Failure to work cooperatively and with good judgement would impact teamwork and established trust among our external audiences.

Supervision Received Work may be initiated by a manager, committee or working group, and would be prioritized by the Marketing and Communications Coordinator. Draft work requires review and approval, as set in established content review workflows.

Minimum Qualifications High School graduation, plus two years of post-secondary education, plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in arts, business, communications, marketing or related field.

Strong professional writing and editing experience.

Familiarity with Canadian Press Style

Experience preparing digital marketing assets, including graphics and text

Experience in graphic design, social media, writing and editing experience is required.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have basic skills for designing and managing digital content, including graphic assets and websites.

Experience supporting registration systems or CRM platforms

Experience building HTML emails

High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
