Our client with over 40 years in the Transportation industry, a very well known and respected company that is seeking a Branch Manager to manage the end-to-end operational performance of the branch of over-the-road freight and international forwarding, acting as the primary between Operations and Sales.

Responsibilities

Own daily operations across dispatch, track & trace, customer service, documentation, and claims resolution to meet ontime pickup/delivery, ontime documentation, and firstcontact resolution targets.

Optimize load planning, mode selection, and carrier allocation to maximize gross margin per load and asset/utilization efficiency (for brokerage: carrier buy vs. sell spread; for forwarding: buy rates vs. tariffs).

Oversee claims management: root cause, customer communication, carrier recoveries, and preventive measures.

Partner with Sales Manager(s) on quoting strategy, lane density plans, pricing guard rails, and bid responses/RFQs.

Participate in key customer QBRs and implementation kickoffs; translate customer requirements into executable SOPs with clear KPIs.

Coach reps on operational feasibility, service differentiators, and value add solutions (consolidation, mode shifts, routing guides, TMS integrations).

Monitor GP per load, GP %, DPO/DSO, accessorial capture, and claim leakage; execute countermeasures swiftly.

Forecast weekly and monthly performance; present variance analyses with action plans to upper management.

Lead a team of dispatchers, CSRs/Account Specialists, and supervisors; set clear goals, conduct 1:1s, coach performance, and build succession.

Hire, onboard, and develop talent; maintain staffing ratios aligned to book size and mix (LTL/FTL/intl).

Ensure compliance with FMCSA/Transport Canada, dangerous goods, C- TPAT/PIP, customs, and recordkeeping requirements (as applicable).

Leverage TMS/WMS analytics and dashboards; improve exception management and workflow automation (EDI/API, customer portals).

Qualifications

7–10+ years in 3PL/transportation (brokerage, freight forwarding, or logistics operations), with at least 3+ years leading an operations team.

Strong knowledge of LTL/FTL, parcel, and (if in scope) air/ocean & customs workflows.

Experience collaborating with Sales on pricing, RFQs, and large account implementations.

Bilingual (EN/FR) strongly preferred in Québec; postsecondary education in business, supply chain, or related field an asset.
