Software Engineering Manager

Auxo is hiring a

Software Engineering Manager

for an early stage AI company building automation products for back office and financial operations.

You will help them move from 0 to 1 by owning technical direction, contributing hands on with code, and establishing the engineering standards that will support multiple AI powered products as the team scales.

What You’ll Do

Lead architecture, design, and development across a Python and React TypeScript stack.

Contribute directly to core platform modules including ingestion pipelines, workflow engines, retrieval systems, and enterprise integrations.

Build internal frameworks and reusable components that support multiple AI agents and products.

Drive major technical decisions and ensure systems are designed for scale, maintainability, and long term clarity.

Mentor and coach engineers through pairing, reviews, and structured feedback.

Establish engineering rituals, delivery practices, and predictable execution across the team.

Partner with Product to define roadmap, scope projects, and sequence technical work.

Introduce and maintain best practices for AI engineering, including prompts, retrieval design, model evaluation, and safety.

Foster a culture of ownership, simplicity, and high quality engineering.

Who You Are

8 to 12 years of experience in software development with 3 to 5 years leading small engineering teams in an early stage environment.

Strong hands on background in Python and React TypeScript.

Experience building platforms, internal tools, or multi tenant architectures.

Proven experience applying clean architecture and scalable design patterns.

Hands on exposure to LLMs, retrieval pipelines, vector databases, or agent based workflows.

Strong technical judgment with the ability to balance speed, simplicity, and long term maintainability.

Comfortable working in a 0 to 1 environment with evolving requirements and high ownership.

Excellent communicator who brings clarity to ambiguity and aligns teams around strong technical direction.

Nice to Have

Experience with domain driven design or schema driven development.

Exposure to AWS or GCP cloud environments.

Experience building automation products, workflow engines, or internal developer platforms.

Prior startup or SaaS experience.
