As the Manager of Engineering Services – Project Manager, you will oversee critical systems and drive engineering projects from concept to completion. Leading a team of engineers, you will apply your expertise to manage our capital program, enhance equipment reliability, and support new product development.
Responsibilities
Lead project management from planning to commissioning and handover, ensuring objectives are met on schedule, safely, and within budget.
Scheduling, budgeting, coordinating project objectives within limits and reporting status.
Vendor and equipment investigation, selection, price negotiation, coordination, and procurement.
CER development and submission, including presentations for funding approvals.
Preparation and review of scope documents, job specifications and drawings.
Supervise contractors in project execution and commissioning, and handover to Operations.
Facilitate project reviews and stakeholder meetings and provide reports on progress and budget status.
Utilize a systematic approach to project management and promote the use of tools for continuous improvement.
Work across regional boundaries and support local Bakery Operations and Maintenance Teams for timely completion of small-budget projects.
Participate in the regional multiyear Capital Program, including plan development and regular reporting on project status, commitments, and spending.
Interact with Business Units, Division Supply Chain teams and Corporate Support Services to share best practices, upgrade work processes, and provide feedback on vendor and equipment performance and continuous improvement inputs.
Serve as a Maintenance Subject Matter Expert, generating engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other problems adversely affecting plant operations.
Assist in managing equipment supplier‑related issues causing inefficiencies, regulatory, safety, or quality problems.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any discipline).
7 to 10 years of reliability engineering and/or project management experience in food engineering.
Knowledge of asset care and maintenance management.
Successful leadership of diverse capital projects from feasibility through start‑up and performance validation.
Knowledge of current personnel safety, food safety, environmental and regulatory compliance issues related to manufacturing in the food industry.
Experience applying engineering knowledge cross‑functionally to support new food development and commercialization in specialty food categories.
Excellent planning and coordination skills.
Expertise in Microsoft Office skills is required.
AutoCAD proficiency is preferred.
Travel
This role requires between 50% and 75% travel.
Location
This role is based at our Ontario, CA bakery.
