The IT Service Management (ITSM) Refactoring Project is designed to eliminate technical debt that has built up over the past four years as the organization has deployed an ITSM solution aligned with its digital directives.

The current platform is reaching end-of-life, and the project aims to modernize and align the ITSM suite with the Enterprise Architecture vision for a sustainable, cloud‑based solution that supports configuration, incident, work order, change, and release management. Tasks & Responsibilities

Provide advanced architectural expertise to support engagement with the Enterprise Architecture (EA) group within the IT Branch. Ensure alignment of the ITSM modernization initiative with enterprise standards and future‑state architecture. Conduct current‑state (As‑Is) architecture analysis, develop future‑state architecture, and facilitate engagement and alignment with stakeholders. Gather and document all architectural details of the existing ITSM system. Identify and map dependencies of systems and services that rely on the current ITSM platform for functionality. Validate findings with EA stakeholders to ensure completeness and accuracy. Collaborate with BMC Corporation to obtain architecture diagrams and specifications for the proposed cloud‑based ITSM solution. Design and document the target architecture package, including logical/physical architecture diagrams, integration points, dependency mapping, and compliance with enterprise architecture principles and security standards. Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture group to ensure the proposed solution aligns with organizational strategies and technology roadmaps. Facilitate architecture review sessions and incorporate feedback into deliverables. Mandatory Qualifications

10+ years of recent experience as a Software/Application Architect, Enterprise Solutions Architect, or similar. 3+ years of recent experience with ITSM platforms and enterprise architecture frameworks. 3+ years of recent experience with cloud architecture (BMC Helix or similar). 3+ years of recent experience creating architecture diagrams using tools such as Visio, ArchiMate, or equivalent. Valid Reliability Security Clearance and experience working with the Federal Government. Ability to work a hybrid model based in Ottawa/Gatineau (National Capital Region). Canadian university degree or college/CEGEP diploma in computer science, business administration, information technology, engineering, or a related field (verification required). TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification preferred. Seniority level: Not applicable. Employment type: Other. Job function: Engineering and Information Technology.
