Position Overview
This role is responsible for expanding PowerON’s market position through strategic partnerships, new business opportunities, and the development of innovative business models and programs. It focuses on creating new pathways for large-scale electrification by bringing together OEMs, governments, utilities, technology providers, and major fleet customers, and by shaping opportunities where PowerON can lead.
The mandate includes building the capabilities, partnerships, and internal processes that help PowerON implement new ideas, test emerging technologies, and translate industry trends into practical growth initiatives. It combines ecosystem building, business development strategy, and innovation design to ensure the company stays ahead of the market and is positioned as a preferred partner for complex electrification programs.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor industry, policy, technology, and competitive trends to identify where future demand will form and where PowerON should play next
Build strategic partnerships with OEMs, governments, utilities, funders, and major fleets to shape markets and create demand for PowerON’s solutions
Develop partnership structures and collaboration models that position PowerON as the preferred integrator for emerging electrification programs
Lead strategic pilots, consortiums, and special projects that validate new markets and open revenue-generating opportunities ahead of competitors
Design and refine business models that support electrification at scale and align with customer needs, policy priorities, and available funding
Develop business cases and implementation pathways for major strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with PowerON’s long-term growth direction
Provide market, partner, and competitor insights that directly inform product strategy and guide the development of repeatable offerings and services
Work closely with Electrification Solutions, Business Development, Energy Markets, and other teams to shape early-stage strategic concepts into viable service models
Lead cross-functional execution of strategic initiatives from concept to delivery, ensuring strong commercial positioning and clear internal alignment
Build internal capabilities and innovation processes that help PowerON identify opportunities early, respond faster than competitors, and continuously strengthen its market position
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. An MBA or similar advanced training considered an asset.
10+ years of experience in strategy, business development, partnerships, or innovation
Experience working in energy, mobility, clean technology, or infrastructure
Proven ability to build and manage senior-level partnerships with government, OEMs, utilities, or major customers
Strong skills in business model design, market analysis, and business case development
Ability to lead cross-functional strategic initiatives from concept to execution
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
