Description
Reporting to the Manager Process Engineering - First & Last Mile, the Process Specialist II role is responsible for leading process and performance excellence programs within the First and Last Mile operations umbrella.
Responsiblities:
Lead and coordinate the evaluation of processes, systems, and technology impacting operations as per the approved business requirement
Develop routines and best practices to ensure quality and performance
Ensure processes comply with safety and quality standards
Meet with operations managers to assess existing processes. Document the voice of the customer and assess requirements for first and last mile
Lead and manage the exploration of process improvement strategies, documentation, data collection, defect management, and take-to-market activities within the first last mile
Work with the Process Manager - FLM to execute deliverables assigned to complete the project scope on time and within budget
Lead and conduct lessons learned exercises for continuous improvement of associated standardized processes
Provide the Process Manager with process documents and standard operating procedures
Communicate and update project status and activities to all stakeholders
Provide training and monitoring support to operations for system upgrades
Experience
Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in a high availability Transportation/Supply Chain/Network Logistics operation. Experience within the Courier First and Last Mile considered an asset
Experience with transportation processes and standard operating procedures
Advanced technical skills
Analytical thinker
Strong leadership, project, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in an agile approach
Lean/Six Sigma training (Green Belt or above is preferred)
Problem solver and strategic thinker with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work with a high degree of detail and accuracy constantly meeting deadlines
Strong written and oral communications skills. Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset
Knowledge in MS applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project)
Experience with UAT and JIRA
Education:
Degree in Industrial Engineering/BS degree in Engineering graduate considered an asset
