Location:
Victoria, BC (On-site)
Hours:
7am - 3:30pm (Monday to Friday)
Compensation:
$75,000 - $90,000 salary (plus potential bonuses)

The Role

Our training program provides you with in-depth insights into municipal government, financial management, SaaS, and Client Success. Rest assured, you won't feel out of your element; we are committed to supporting your development at every stage, with regular check-ins designed to help you thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Client Onboarding:
Utilising Excel to extract, transform, and load financial, utility, and infrastructure data from local governments into Waterworth. Initiatives for data automation are highly encouraged!
Financial Forecasting:
Use your accounting fundamentals and domain knowledge to build and calibrate forward-looking financial models that turn data into visual stories.
Strategic Advising:
Support community growth by partnering with City Managers, Finance Directors, and Public Works Directors (our "Waterworth Champions") to deliver critical insights for their long-term strategic planning.
Build Meaningful Relationships:
Earn trust and credibility as a go-to advisor for senior municipal leaders. Your consistency, integrity, and insight will form the backbone of lasting partnerships.
Accounting & Financial Acumen:
Understand key accounting/finance concepts and youโre excited to apply that knowledge to real-world challenges in public sector contexts.
Proficient in Excel:
Must be able to demonstrate experience using spreadsheets to analyze data and build models. Candidates will be tested on their Excel skills during the interview process.
Confident Communicator:
Experience in presenting complex data insights with clarity to key stakeholders.
Growth Mindset:
Demonstrated a commitment to continuous learning from each challenge faced. A "Win or Learn" mindset is the standard here.
Effective Team Player:
Worked in a cross-functional environment, with a collaborative approach to solving business problems.
