THE ROLE
-Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), the Policy Development and Research Manager is responsible for leading and managing the GBV Community of Practice. This includes coordinating webinars with external subject‑matter experts, curating and disseminating relevant sectoral knowledge, developing newsletters, and overseeing the GBV Extranet.
The Manager will lead capacity‐building efforts for the Community of Practice by developing resources such as presentations, training materials, and other knowledge‑exchange tools. They will collaborate closely with teams across MFS and CFMWS to foster an engaged and active Community of Practice. The Manager will collaborate with the broader GBV team to support planning and implementation of the Healthy Relationships campaign.
The ideal candidate brings expertise in GBV and/or family violence, experience in trauma-and violence-informed approaches, Gender-Based Analysis Plus, and adult education. They are detail‑oriented, skilled in contract management, experienced in survey platforms, and comfortable liaising with key external partners. The Manager will also contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities for the GBV Program.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies, Sociology, Social Work or a related discipline AND several years of experience in social research and community development or a related field
Experience
In researching, analyzing, drafting, interpreting and editing policies and procedures
In policy and program development
In the development of research designs and methodologies
In planning, organizing and managing research data collection and statistical analysis
In facilitation and delivery of presentations, workshops and briefing sessions
In project management
In partnership development and contract administration, as required
In budget administration, as required
In personnel administration, as required

OTHER INFORMATION
This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
As part of the selection process, the successful candidate must successfully complete a Reliability status security screening.
