Job Description
Job Summary:
The Service Technician is responsible for the installation, start-up maintenance, and repair of fixed industrial bakery process equipment (conveyors, equipment, systems, or technology) at customer sites, North American industrial bakery industry. The service technician is also responsible for inspection, diagnostic, repair, modification, testing and training activities, on the equipment, at the customer sites.
The technician will work directly with customers to ensure that all systems are operational, troubleshoot issues, and provide high-quality service to maintain customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation:
Install [equipment/systems] at customer locations according to technical specifications and safety standards.
Perform pre-installation site surveys to ensure all requirements are met.
Configure and test systems to ensure proper functionality. Participate in equipment testing and factory acceptance testing (FAT) at our factory.
Maintenance and Repairs:
Conduct routine maintenance on installed systems to prevent issues and ensure optimal performance.
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems, providing effective solutions.
Repair or replace faulty components as necessary.
Customer Service:
Communicate clearly with customers to understand their needs and address any concerns.
Coordinate with local team members or other vendors to ensure quality and timeliness of installations or repairs.
Provide training to customers on the use and maintenance of installed systems.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering timely and effective service.
Documentation:
Complete service reports, installation records, and other documentation accurately and promptly.
Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and equipment used in the field.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while working at customer sites.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
Education: Technical studies level in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or any equivalent and relevant training
Experience: 2-5 years of experience in field service, installation, or a related technical role.
Travel: Valid driverโs licence and passport and be available to work outside the region (Canada, USA)
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, work in various environmental conditions, and perform physical tasks as needed.
Skills:
Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with reading drawings, using Microsoft Office or other software, etc. (PLC Programming a plus).
Familiar with mechanical (drives, pneumatics, etc.) and electrical (industrial control, programmable logic controller (PLC), etc.) aspects of industrial / process machinery.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
